The Greater Baton Rouge Surgical Hospital (GBR) is unique: it is the only surgical sub-specialty hospital in north Baton Rouge.
The 33,000-square-foot surgical hospital opened October, 2005 despite the catastrophic results of Hurricane Katrina and the challenges and uncertainties in the medical arena. GBR's physical creation allows its physicians to provide quality care in northern Baton Rouge. Patients now have the convenience of seeking health care in an area where healthcare options have been minimal.
GBR offers a wide array of surgical services ranging from orthopaedic surgery to gynecological surgery to comprehensive imaging, and draws from a number of parishes including East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, West Feliciana and southern Mississippi.
Easily accessible via I-110 and the old Mississippi River Bridge, GBR attaches itself to a 50,000-square foot medical office building where its multispecialty group of physicians treat their patients.
